"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had." Philippians 2:3-5
We are slowly moving through Philippians 2 and still focusing on being a unified community of believers.
When studying Luke together before Easter, we kept coming back to Jesus' opposite values from the world. The world says to strive, to get ahead, to think of yourself while Jesus preached and modelled humbly laying one's own interests aside for others, giving others the places of honor, generously giving without expecting repayment or praise.
Without the Holy Spirit working within us, living like Him is impossible. It's just us trying hard and falling short. Today, let's lean hard into Him and ask him to mold us into his likeness. Then our communities will find more unity, compassion and love.
Lord Jesus, we lift our hearts to you today. Mold us, transform us to be more like you. Hlep us to humble ourselves as you did and seek out the intersests of others with your Spirit mightingly working in us.

Just before the famous 4:13, Paul speaks about how he's learned to be content no matter the circumstances--rich or poor, well fed or hungry. The secret: God gives him strength in ALL circumstances. Paul trusts God to come through no matter what is happening to him
Now that is something I need way more than the strength to cliff dive or stick a landing, the strength to BE CONTENT no matter what.
