God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (Philippians 2:13)
I am so relieved that my life does not depend entirely on me. Grit is a good thing but my own grit runs dry eventually. God's power and love and compassion and goodness never run out.
It is God who is working in us. When we surrender to him, he gets to work, molding, forming us to be more like him.
He gives us the desire and power to please him. Do you ever struggle with both...the want to as well as the power to please God?
I know I do.
Today let's lean into the soul potter. Let's throw ourselves down on the throwing wheel and allow him to bubble up in us the desire and power to do what delights our Maker.
Lord Jesus, help us to surrender to you today and allow you to shape our soul, our mind, our desires to be in line with your delight. Thank you for honoring us with your hand at work in our lives.

Just before the famous 4:13, Paul speaks about how he's learned to be content no matter the circumstances--rich or poor, well fed or hungry. The secret: God gives him strength in ALL circumstances. Paul trusts God to come through no matter what is happening to him
Now that is something I need way more than the strength to cliff dive or stick a landing, the strength to BE CONTENT no matter what.
